Cookie Notice
This Notice describes cookies and similar technologies used by Tap4Go. Optional Google Analytics and external media are off until you choose them. “Reject optional” is available with the same access as “Accept all”. First-party daily interaction totals do not use an analytics cookie or visitor identifier.
1. What these technologies do
Cookies are small values stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, SDKs and device identifiers. Tap4Go uses a consent cookie to remember your choice and a session cookie for authentication, security, NFC-flow continuity and form protection. Google Analytics is a separate optional category.
2. Tap4Go cookies
| Name | Category and purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| PHPSESSID (name may vary) | Necessary. Login session, security, CSRF protection and temporary activation/analytics-scan state. It is HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax and Secure over HTTPS. | Browser session |
| lang | Necessary/functionality. Remembers the selected language. | 1 year |
| t4g_consent | Necessary. Stores the policy version, analytics/media choices and choice time so the site can honour them. | 6 months |
| _ga, _ga_* | Optional analytics. Google Analytics distinguishes users and sessions when configured and consented. | Normally up to 2 years, subject to Google/property settings |
3. Cookie-free aggregate interaction statistics
Tap4Go counts business-card visits, NFC scans and all business-card content actions, including save-contact, phone, email, website, map, every supported social network, contact-form opens/submissions and other content links. New events are immediately added to a daily aggregate keyed only by the card/tag, event/social category, coarse country and device class. The counter does not store visitor IP or IP hash, session ID, full user-agent, city, referrer, destination URL, phone number or email address and does not use an analytics cookie. It operates regardless of the optional-cookie choice under Tap4Go’s legitimate interest in measuring and improving the requested service; users may object through the privacy contact.
4. Google Analytics
Where a GA4 measurement ID is configured, Google Analytics loads only after analytics consent. Google may collect users, session statistics, approximate location, browser/device data and events and set _ga cookies. Tap4Go configures advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalisation as denied and disables Google Signals/advertising-personalisation signals in the application tag. Google states that GA does not log or store individual IP addresses for EEA, Swiss and UK traffic and discards them after coarse geolocation. See Google Privacy Policy.
5. External media and outbound links
YouTube or similar embeds are replaced with a placeholder until external-media consent. If allowed, the provider can receive IP address, device/browser data, page URL and interaction data and may set its own cookies. Clicking an ordinary external link (for example Google Maps, WhatsApp or a social profile) takes you to that provider under its own policy; Tap4Go does not load that destination before your click.
6. Change or withdraw a choice
Use “Cookie settings” in any Tap4Go footer to accept, reject or change categories. Withdrawal is as easy as consent and affects future use. You may also clear cookies in the browser; the banner will reappear. Blocking necessary session cookies can prevent login, security checks, language memory and form submission.
